Welcome
Welcome to Studio Arts Unit 3 & 4 Theory
Welcome to Year 12 VCE Studio Arts! Congratulations on your final year of your secondary education.
This website aims to help you have a resource hub where most, if not all, the information you need to complete Units 3 & 4 Outcome 3. On this site you will find the information you need to successfully complete the tasks set in class but most importantly the end of year exam! We will be focussing on the exam right from the start of the year and progressively gain and remember the knowledge needed for your final exam.
Remember to look at this website first when you have a question as it is specifically made for you! If you cannot find what you are looking for here then contact myself. Throughout the year we will put up more information that we collect together on artists, exhibitions, course content and more. I am sure you will find relevant and interesting information or exciting ways to get the course content stuck in your brains for exams!
We have a big year ahead of us so lets work together to make it the best year and a breeze when it comes to that end of year exam.
I will always be open to suggestions and being a team to help you succeed!

Rationale
Although the content is separated into Unit 3 Outcome 3 and Unit 4 Outcome 3 we are not necessarily doing the content in order of the VCAA Study Design although we will still be covering all content needed for your exam.
UNIT 3
The study of artists and their work practices: Students investigate and analyse the response of artists to a wide range of stimuli, and examine their use of materials and techniques. They explore professional art practices of artists in relation to particular artworks and art form/s and identify the development of styles in artworks. Throughout their study of art processes, students also consider the issues that may arise from the use of other artists’ work in the making of new artworks.
UNIT 4
Students also investigate aspects of artists’ involvement in the art industry, focusing on a variety of exhibition spaces and the methods and considerations involved in the preparation, presentation and conservation of artworks. Students examine a range of environments for the presentation of artworks exhibited in contemporary settings. Students are expected to visit at least two different exhibition spaces in their current year of study.
